About Barvy Art

Welcome! You’ve entered a space where art builds bridges between generations and cultures.

We are a nonprofit art foundation dedicated to preserving, studying, and sharing the rich artistic heritage of Eastern Europe, with a special focus on 20th-century Ukrainian art.

Our mission is to bring greater international visibility to the artists and movements that have shaped Eastern European culture. Through our educational resource, we highlight both celebrated and lesser-known figures - artists whose work offers insight into the aesthetic, intellectual, and cultural landscapes of their time and whose contributions merit wider recognition.

What We Believe

We see art as a vital form of cultural knowledge — a way to connect people across time and place, and to foster a deeper understanding of regional identities and shared histories.

The Foundation is committed to:

01

Promoting and protecting Eastern Europe’s cultural heritage

02

Supporting the visibility of artists connected to the region

03

Increasing public access to artistic resources

04

Creating opportunities for collaboration with cultural, academic, and educational institutions

05

Initiating public engagement and conversation through exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms

Explore the Artists

On this website, we invite everyone to explore our Artists & Artwork section — a growing resource designed to become the most expansive online platform dedicated to Ukrainian artists. It offers detailed information about the creators and their significant works.

Where the Past Meets the Future

We believe that cultural heritage belongs to everyone. Whether you are an art lover, researcher, educator, or simply curious, we invite you to explore, learn, and engage with the remarkable creativity that Eastern Europe has to offer.

With each project, exhibition, and publication, we strive to deepen the understanding of Eastern European art — Ukrainian in particular — and position it within the broader context of global cultural heritage.

Our goal is not only to preserve the past but to shape a future where this vibrant legacy is seen, studied, and celebrated worldwide.

We welcome your questions and comments

We are always open to new ideas and collaborations with cultural and academic institutions, particularly for exhibition projects.

Have a proposal or a question? We’d love to hear from you.
